The United Arab Emirates has introduced the Golden Visa for artists and content creators, a major initiative designed to attract and retain global creative talent. Supported by the AED 150 million Content Creators Fund, the programme offers long-term residency, mentorship, funding, and training opportunities to help creators build sustainable careers within the country’s expanding digital economy.
The visa initiative aligns with Creator HQ, Dubai’s new creative hub at Emirates Towers, which aims to nurture a thriving ecosystem for content creation and innovation through international partnerships, workshops, and industry collaboration.
Eligibility Criteria for the UAE Golden Visa
The long-term residency permit is open to talented individuals in the creative space, including social media influencers, filmmakers, photographers, and writers. This visa supports professionals who are pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation.
According to the Creator HQ framework, applicants might qualify for the Golden Visa if they:
- Have a history of producing impactful content or creative work
- Have received awards or recognition for their contributions
- Show strong potential to add value to the UAE’s creative community
- Demonstrate consistent growth and engagement in their content
Family members of Golden Visa holders are also eligible to apply for a dependent Golden Visa, which will have the same duration as that of the principal visa holder.
How to Apply for the UAE Golden Visa for Content Creators
Content creators can apply for the Golden Visa through the Creator HQ website. Applications are reviewed under the Content Creators and Creative Talent category. Qualified applicants receive a nomination email, after which they must complete a medical test at Smart Salem in DIFC.
Once cleared, they can visit the Services 1 Centre at Jumeirah Emirates Towers to finalise and print their Golden Visa. Any existing UAE visa must be cancelled before issuance, and a new Emirates ID is provided within approximately two working days by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security.
Simplify Your UAE Golden Visa Journey
The UAE Golden Visa process can be complex for creatives and entrepreneurs. Creator HQ offers comprehensive support for setting up businesses in the UAE from registration to licensing. While primarily focused on the creative and media industries, their services extend across multiple sectors. Although some in-person visits may be required, much of the process can be handled remotely.
